home is where the heart is...

Home is where the heart is...until you run out of money. We are facing foreclosure on our home that we have had for almost 10 years. I was very upset. We can sell it, but I don't want to sell it. Waiting for disability seems to be forever! How can anyone afford to wait for disability? We pay into it for all these years until we need it one day and it takes this long just to tell you no. I know I made several mistakes my life, but my life hasn't always been great to me. I am paying for my pain for not working. I'm going to lose my home. I can't make a partial payment, only a lump sum. I don't have a lump sum. I just want to save my home. How am I going to go on? What do I tell my family? Please God help me. Help me save my home. Anyone and everyone that reads this, please pray for me.

I'm convinced a lot of us are sicker than we would have been had not illness been accompanied by financial devastations...we think there is a functioning social safety net, but a lot of us are in free fall right thru it.

I wish I could do something practical like send money, but I'll never own a home thanks to getting lupus at the wrong age. I will say a prayer. Maybe something good will happen like a nice person comes along who wants to rent a room.

I don't understand why you can only pay a lump sum but then again today's crazy mortgages make no sense to me. Why would banks want to have so much devalued property on their hands instead of working with people?

Contact your elected representatives, legal aid, local news...this is a national story now that so many people are affected.

Hugs,
Beep

"Change is inevitable, growth is optional". I hope you can find peace and strength in the notion that as things change, there is a chance for them to become better in ways you could never imagine. I recommend watching or reading "Peaceful Warrior" and "The Wellness Book", both I consider treasured tools for the challenges we face.

I also invite you to read my new blog (http://myfabulouslifewithlupus.blogspot.com/) which will come to reveal the many ways lupus has changed my life. Leaving my hometown of New York City after 38 years, starting over - alone, and my rejection of conventional medicine.

Thank you for sharing your journey. I empathize strongly with your situation and I wish you all the best.

I am praying for you. I am so sorry to hear about the added stress that you are now facing with your finances. I understand. Money has been incredibly tight lately and so many people are one paycheck away from devastation.

I pray that things look up for you soon! I pray that you get the help you need to get disability approved and that your financial situation becomes stable.

I just let my house go, not foreclosed, just let go, I had 10 years paid into it out of 30 on the mortgage but now as I look back, it was a blessing. I no longer have the stress. My two kids are happy and still in the same school. We rent a larger size home and we were able to also keep our 3 dogs in our family. It's not so bad to throw the towel in, or raise the white flag. It doesn't mean you are a failure. At least you got a taste of what it meant to be a homeowner, maybe another day you can be. That's what I feel but by then it will be a small condo for myself and one dog. Say a prayer and you will get your answers, just listen and keep your faith and hope.
